LEAVE THIS TOWN #1

(P. Assirati)

We struggled with the arrangement of this song. This was one of the first songs written once we were a band. It was meant to sound like a wide screen cowboy anthem written for the Wild West of England. I wrote the lyrics about moving to live in a community and how things that seemed a reason to go become a reason to stay.

I was thinking you would call me
Waiting for the guilt to bring me down
Thinking that the train would find me
It wouldn't take a lot to leave this town
But when I saw your face there was nothing left to say
So take me in your arms and take me far away
It wouldn't take a lot to leave this town

I didn't want you to find me
Broken up in pieces on the ground
Didn't want your heart to hold me
I tried to slip away without a sound
But when I saw your face there was so much left to say
You take me in your arms and you take me far away
It's gonna take a lot to leave this town
